What is EZBorrow?
EZBorrow is web gateway that allows simultaneous searching of academic library catalogs in Pennsylvania. Patrons at member libraries can make direct loan requests, expediting the interlibrary loan process. It is available to all Mercyhurst students, staff, and faculty.

How do I use EZBorrow?
To search the catalogs of EZBorrow member libraries, click on the EZBorrow logo .
Here you will be prompted to enter your Patron ID - this is your seven-digit Mercyhurst college ID number. The next screen you see is the "Patron Main Menu", where there are 2 options.
-Searching/Requesting
Click the "Searching/Requesting" button to begin searching.
-Review your Requests
If you have made prior requests via EZBorrow, the "Review your Requests" button will show the status of these items.

Searching EZBorrow
You can search EZBorrow for books by title, author, subject, or ISBN number.

EZBorrow member libraries are divided into 3 groups, each containing 10-20 libraries. If your first search does not produce any useful results, try changing to another group using the drop-down menu of "catalogs to search." Also, because you are searching several catalogs simultaneously, a very general search can take a very LONG time to return any results. Using the title search option can be faster. Alternatively, search our local catalog first to find an appropriate Library of Congress subject heading.

The system will return a list of the catalogs that were searched, and if you scroll down you will see the relevant results. You can click on the title of an item to find more details about it, or you can simply click the "Request" button to the left of the item you want.

Requesting an item from EZBorrow
Once you click "Request," you will see a "Create Request" form. Check to make sure your name is correct, and select a pick-up location using the drop-down menu. You can alter the "Need by" date if necessary, but this is NOT a guarantee of delivery. Also, enter notes into the "Notes for Librarian" field ONLY if it relevant to your request (i.e. you need only volume 3 of a multi-volume set).

You will receive an email from EZBorrow when your items arrive at the Hammermill Library. This email will come to your Mercyhurst College email account.

General Circulation Information
All materials borrowed via EZBorrow are checked out on your library account. The loan period is 28 days, with one renewal. Overdue fines will accrue just as they do for Hammermill materials, at a rate of $.10/day. If EZBorrow materials are lost or destroyed, a billing arrangement will be made with the lending library.
