| In order to use SciFinder Scholar, client software must be installed on the computer you are using. The software will work on any PC on the Mercyhurst College network. SciFinder Scholar is not accessible from off-campus at this time. |

| To download SciFinder to your PC on the college network: |
| 1. Download the SciFinder Scholar client software by clicking here. |
| 2. Decompress or "unzip" the files using Winzip or other decompression program. |
| 3. After unzipping, you should see two files (SFS2006.exe, site.prf). |
| 4. Double-click the SFS2006.exe file and an installation wizard will walk you through the installation. |
| 5. Copy and paste the site.prf file into the directory where you installed SciFinder Scholar. |

| To use SciFinder in the library: |
| SciFinder Scholar is installed and available on the 11 reference computers on the main floor of the library and on the 20 PCs in Weber Hall (3R). |
