About the Hammermill Library's Library Research Center

Welcome to the Library Research Center!

Hello and welcome to the new Library Research Center! We are here to help you improve your research skills for your class projects and beyond. You can make an appointment with us today for free one-on-one consultation if you need help with any aspects of the research process.

What can we help you with?

  • Choosing research topics
  • Using the Library
  • How to evaluate resources
  • How to find scholarly / Peer-Reviewed resources
  • Avoiding plagiarism
  • How to cite resources
  • Navigating particular databases
  • ...Or anything else you need!

Where can we meet?

Meetings are to be held on Microsoft Teams, using your Mercyhurst account. Mercyhurst students and employees have free access to Microsoft Teams, and Teams can run on a desktop computer or in a mobile app. This allows us to share screens and see each other, but you are not required to be on camera if you don't want to.

Who is eligible?

Only Mercyhurst main campus students and employees may have consultation sessions.

What other services do you offer?

In the future we may also host open programs and workshops for students and faculty, but such events are postponed due to the public health precautions. Any new developments will be posted here.

Where can Mercyhurst North East Students get help?

If you are located at Mercyhurst North East, your library is still the Ridge Library and you may contact us for research help using the Distance Request for Library Assistance form on this page (also on the home page).
