Using Public Library Services

Erie County Public Library eCard

library cardMercyhurst's Lakers and employees can use The Erie County Public Library online! The ECPL is offering an e-Card which you can apply for without visiting a branch in person. You can register the online only e-Card here and access over a dozen databases for additional research, job searching, genealogy, and even entertainment. After registering, you will receive your library card in the mail within 5 business days. Use your card to access databases and check out ebooks, audio-books, and streaming video content using Overdrive or hoopla. The online card cannot be used to check physical material out at a library branch.

Be sure to use your Mercyhurst address when registering. If you are an Erie County resident, even if you live on campus, use your home residence address. If home is out of state, use your Mercyhurst residence hall address when registering. If you are an online student studying from home at a location outside of Erie County, you may use the general Mercyhurst campus address: 501 East 38th Street, Erie, Pennsylvania 16546.

If you already have a traditional library card with the ECPL, you do not need to register again for an e-card. Simply use the barcode number on the back of your library card to access the ECPL's online eDatabases!

Other Libraries

If you do not reside in Erie County, don't forget the public libraries in your area! These most likely have online resources of their own and other services.
