MARCH 2019

DID YOU KNOW...

That during the summer of 2019, the university will be embarking on a complete renovation of the main level of the Hammermill Library?

When students arrive for Fall Semester 2019, they’ll discover a completely new environment and new library experience. The space will include four new collaborative study rooms with glass write-on boards and large wall-mounted interactive computer screens. Students will be able to schedule these rooms in advance for group study and group projects. A brand new Public Services/Circulation Desk area will greet students as they enter the main doors. There will be several sections of comfortable seating, plus new tables everywhere for studying; new shelving to display new books, reference books, magazines and newspapers; an updated Writing Center and an updated area for tutoring services. The former Library Classroom L225 will be remodeled and become the official University Testing Center. This will allow students needing to make up exams, or needing support while taking tests, to have one place to go for exams and not feel displaced.

A LOOK AT THE UpToDate DATABASE

UpToDate is one of our subscription databases used for Health topics. It will be most useful to students and professors in Health Sciences, Public Health, Nursing, Physical Therapy, and other health fields, although it can also be useful to anyone in need of complete and authoritative health information from a clinical perspective. Used by actual health professionals in the field, UpToDate is a serious tool designed for real-life applications.
